《龍之信條 2》狂龍病指南

Later on in the game your Pawns will start to incubate Dragonsplague, a disease that may have disastrous consequences. There's a way to identify and mitigate it.

While lots of people enjoy Capcom's newly released Dragon's Dogma 2, an incredibly good action RPG, the journey is not without perils. Whether it's your life ending at the hands of an ogre, or your Pawns "jumping" off cliffs, danger is abound.

In this guide, we'll explain and go over a dangerous ailment known as Dragonsplague, so if you haven't encountered it yet, you probably will soon.

What is Dragonsplague in Dragon's Dogma 2?

Dragosplague is a debilitation, a status effect for Pawns only. It's not really a proper debuff, as it will not show up in the status window for Pawns. In general, debilitations are sort of like diseases that do a variety of bad things, such as increasing vulnerability to certain types of damage or just inflicting pain.

Dragonsplague is a mysterious illness that will show up in the game at some point. If left untreated, the Pawn will go berserk and slaughter a town before getting dismissed automatically. This can occur after resting at an Inn.

How can you spot Dragonsplague?

While hiring, you can't tell if a Pawn is infected. However, once you hire one that has it or the infection occurs, you will get a tutorial pop up upon your first time. That's how you will know for sure that a Pawn is sick. However, this tutorial window will not pop on subsequent infections.

Other than that, you have two ways of recognizing Dragonsplague in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  1. Behavioral clues: the Pawn will be more aggressive in their voice lines and even disobey sometimes. While they chatter up usually in positive ways, you'll hear some negative responses about how they don't need to be told what to do, etc.
  2. Visual clues: Two things here: if you manuever the camera directly onto the Pawn's eyes, they will glow red. Also, occasionally the Pawn may "emote" a headache or similar, showing that they are in pain or sick. Reddit user u/Rymann88 posted Dragonsplague visual tells and tips.

How to cure Dragonsplague

At the moment, there isn't really a known cure, no potion of any sort. That may change in the future. You have basically two options:

  1. Pass on the infection to another Pawn, if another player uses your Pawn
  2. Have your Pawn die and then be resurrected at the Riftstone. That is a good solution for your Main Pawn, and you can just shuffle out your sub Pawns. Sub Pawns (which are the Main Pawns for their creators) need to be, uh, "reset" by their owners and then saved over.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is proving to be an awesome sequel full of challenges for players, whether you play on PC or PlayStation 5. Keep an eye out on the Dragonsplague to make sure your Pawns don't go rampaging through towns! Look into their eyes.
